A row of 5 houses known as Black Rock were dated 1720
and with the initials of John and Sarah
Lockwood

Robert Turner built the Black Rock Inn.
Robert Turner was living in Black Rock house and working
as a tanner

Robert Turner buys the Blue Bell estate on the other
side of Chapel Lane – see Blue Bell, Midgley
