Local Coaches & Omnibuses
The district was served by a number of horse-drawn coaches to carry
passengers and goods to and from, and within the district.
The pick-up points were usually local coaching inns, including:

- Royal Fleece: Red Lion, Elland to Halifax & Sheffield [1882]
- Royal Hope: Roebuck Inn, Halifax to Bradford & Leeds [1845]
- Shuttle: Golden Lion, Todmorden through Todmorden
