In [Q2] 1912, he married (2) Alice Calthrop [1892-1974] in Halifax.

He carried the post between Halifax and Ripponden.

Around 1870, he established an omnibus service.

In 1886, he established the John Marsh & Company horse-drawn omnibus service.

In 1859, he married Susan Sykes [1834-1886].
