The Paddy Mails
The Paddy Mails were the small engines which pulled trains
along the Hardcastle Crags Railway.
There were 15 locomotives, each costing about £550:
- Annie
was bought in 1902
- Baldersdale
was a Hunslet engine bought from Huddersfield Waterworks in
1904
- Doris
was bought in 1896
- Esau
was bought in 1904
- George
was bought in 1902
- Halifax
- Lipscombe
was bought in 1900
- Little Egrit
was bought from Cransley Iron Company in 1900
- Marple
- Parker
was bought in 1900
- Robinson
- Tenacity
was bought in 1902, and had an upholstered seat for Tempest
- Wade
was bought in 1900
- Walshaw Dean
was bought in 1900
- Walton
The carriages were 15 refurbished horse-tramcars from Liverpool
