The Bradford Weekly Telegraph [Friday, 5th August 1910] published
an account of a Balloon Trip from Halifax.
The balloon passed over Bradford and Leeds reaching a height of
nearly 5,000 feet, eventually landing at Sawley near Ripon, the
journey of 35 miles having occupied just an hour and three-quarters
For a time, he and his assistant, Lt Frank Gooden, gave
sightseeing trips over the district, flying at a height of 1,000 ft.
In 1910, he invited aviator Claude Grahame-White to Halifax.
