In the Halifax Daily Courier & Guardian [24th March 1924], Martha published an item in memory of her dear husband; other members of Evelyn's family published two other items.

On 13th December 1934, Martha was found unconscious on the footpath at the Boulevards, Halifax, and was taken to St Luke's Hospital, where she died on 3rd January 1934 (aged 51).

The Halifax Evening Courier [4th January 1934] reported her death.

He & his father were tea & coffee merchants and cocoa, chicory, starch & mustard manufacturers at 6 Kirkgate, Bradford [from 1844].

The York Daily Post [1st September 1855] reported the case of Thomas Denbigh & his father against the Unity Insurance Company who had failed to pay out after a fire at the Tordoffs' Kirkgate premises.


The verdict went in favour of the Tordoffs that they should recover the whole amount (about £2,800) for which the action was brought
 

On 26th December 1843, he married Sarah Ann Render Blackburn [1823-1874] in Leeds.
