An early view looking up King Cross Street before 1914, when much of the area on the left was cleared to make way for Bull Green.

The building at the far right – which was occupied by Scratcherd & Company and then a sequence of pubs – can be clearly identified, and is still standing today.

The photograph is entitled Old Views: Halifax, Yorkshire [1897-1900]
