The grave of Elizabeth, the wife of John Wheelwright, and her grandson John Wheelwright, at Ripponden Parish Church

 

The gravestone is currently a part of the main walkway to the Church and beneath the bench near the tomb of Harry Maslen

Elizabeth Wife of
John Wheelwright of
Rishworth Mill died the
27th and was buried here
the 30th Day of March 1770
Aged 84 Years
     
HERE Also was interred the Body of
John  Wheelwright Late of Rishworth
Mill Gentleman Grandson of the
above named Elizabeth Wheelwright
who departed this Life the 10th Day of
Feb 1814 in the 79th Year of his Age
     
Farewell but not forever Hope replies
Beyond the Grave the Land of Promise Lies
A Land of Bliss beyond  .....  where
Joy Reigns eternal Joy without .....
There may ..... and ..... above
In Loves grand Anthem of ..... one
