The grave of James Jenkinson at Southowram Wesleyan Graveyard

Inscription

In Memory of

Sarah, the daughter of James
and Jane Jenkinson of Southowram,
who died December 16th, 1807,
aged 19 years and 5 weeks.

For we know, that if our earthly house of
this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a
building of God, an house not made with
hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 Cor Chap 5 Ver 1

Also the body of
James Jenkinson,
father of the above,
who departed this life the 4th
day of May 1817 in the 57 year
of his age.

Th'o God did please, by death to seize, and little warning gave,
but yet we trust, hee's gone to Christ, who died his soul to save.

Also of Hannah their daughter,
who departed this life July 5th,
1817, in the 19th year of her age.

We only leave this world of pain,
and part to meet in heaven again.

Also of the above Jane Jenkinson
who departed this life January
29th, 1820, aged 63 years.

For she in joyful hope resign'd her breath,
and in her dying moments conquered death.
