In loving memory of the Revd Matthew Pugh MA, for fifteen years Headmaster of Rishworth Grammar School; afterwards Vicar of All Saints', Marple, and for ten years Rector of St Thomas's, Stockport; who died June 11, 1891, aged 73 years, and is interred at Marple, and of Elizabeth Pugh, his wife, who died Sept 15, 1864, aged 53 years and whose remains lie in this churchyard; this Brass is erected by their Son and Daughter
