James Oates, son of Matthew Oates, & grandson of Joseph Oates, stone merchants, of Southowram, who died 30th March 1830, in the 67th year of his age.     Also of Sarah, wife of the above James Oates, who died 2nd May 1847, aged 73 years.     (This gravestone is the property of Sarah Oates, widow of the above James Oates, who wishes (after herself) none to be interred in this grave.
