A fragment of the headstone which is incorporated into the garden wall of a house in Sowerby.

Like fragments from other gravestones in the garden, it is (probably) from Sowerby Green Congregational Chapel Graveyard.

TIMOTHY, SON OF ELY AND BETTY
HELLOWELL, OF SOWERBY, WHO DIED
FEBry 14th 1827,
AGED 5 YEARS.
     
ALSO ELY, THEIR SON WHO DIED
MAY 22nd 1835, AGED 11 YEARS.
     
ALSO OF THOMAS, THEIR SON
WHO DIED JUNE 13th 1835,
AGED 15 YEARS.
     
ALSO OF SIMEON, THEIR SON
WHO DIED JANUARY 28th 1836,
AGED 7 YEARS.
     
ALSO OF ELY HELLOWELL,
FATHER OF THE ABOVE CHILDREN
WHO DIED APRIL 19th 1861,
AGED 74 YEARS.
     
THE PURE IN HEART SHALL SEE GOD
     
ALSO BETTY, RELICT OF
THE ABOVE ELY HELLOWELL
WHO DIED JANUARY 26th 1864,
AGED 77 YEARS.
