This Foldout looks at some aspects of transport, trams, trolley-buses and buses in and around Brighouse, Rastrick, Bailiff Bridge, Hove Edge, and Hipperholme.
The Brighouse and Bailiff Bridge districts were served by tram services from Halifax, from Huddersfield, and from Bradford via Odsal Top.
The different track widths prevented the Brighouse services linking directly with the services to and from Bradford and Huddersfield.
Passengers travelling from Brighouse to Bradford had to travel to Bailiffe Bridge and change trams.
The Brighouse-Bailiff Bridge section closed in March 1929. This was the first local line to close
Passengers travelling from Halifax to Huddersfield had to disembark at the George corner in Brighouse, cross to the other terminus and change trams.
Trolley buses replaced the trams in 1940.
Buses replaced the trolley buses in 1955
