Cyrus Brook was born in Baildon.
He was the illegitimate son of Hannah Brook, stepson of Lycias Barker, and cousin of Scipio Brook.
He was a worsted manufacturer's apprentice [1851] He and Lycias Barker were lodging with the Ellison family in Bradford.
He was a worsted manufacturer employing 60 females, 13 men & 3 boys [1861] He and his mother were living with his stepfather Lycias Barker.
He was in business with his stepfather Lycias Barker as worsted manufacturer with mills at Baildon Green Mill at Baildon [1861], Victoria Mills, Halifax, and Eagle Works, later trading as Cyrus Brook & Company. He was also a partner in A. & C. Brook with his uncle Amram. Later, he traded as C. Brook & Company.
He was in Halifax employing 153 females and 45 males [1871].
In 1881, he was employing 220 workers.
In January 1862, he married Emily Louisa, daughter of Thomas Fisher [1841-1???] at Bradford.

The family lived at 23 Hampden Place, Halifax [1871]; Salterville, Halifax [1881, 1891]; 7 Mornington Villas, Bradford [where he died 1899].
The widowed Emily Louisa with living at 33 Great George Street, Harrogate with her son Frederick [1901].
Cyrus was buried at Halifax Parish Church Emily Louisa died in Knaresborough [1914]
