His will of 2nd May 1614


First, he left Abraham, a younger son, the east end of a new house.

To his eldest son Michael, his tenement in Hipperholme new divided into 3 in the occupation of the said Michael, widow Brotten and Anneon Hargraves and two gardens and one close called the Buntle, 3 roods of land. All these to go to Michael's son Robert after Michael's death. He left Abraham an annuity of 30s from the Hipperholme lands.

Abraham seems to be handicapped in some way, since he is given a house and annuity, and Mary also seems to be ill, as there are provisions for her money to be redistributed

He left Edward, another younger son, his messuage in Shelf, 2 acres, except for the part of the house already given to Abraham.

The watercourse in his lands in Shelf over against the lands of John Boyes and the watercourse descending from John Houldsworth's house to be equally divided between Michael and Edward, week and week about.

Mary his daughter to have a cubberd with all its candlesticks and pewter, also a standbed with its bedding and twenty five pounds in money.

Daughter Alice, wife of Peter Thorpe, to have 20s, younger son Robert to have 5s as provided for already.

Edward Brodley executor, witnesses Richard Sunderland Esquire, Abraham Sunderland and Richard Sunderland.
