Halifax / An Eligible Inn / To Be Sold By Auction

ALL that Neat, Spacious, and Well-accustomed INN, known by the Sign of ADMIRAL LORD NELSON.

The Premises are very pleasantly situate upon the Cow-Green, Halifax, and well adapted for an Inn, being in the Centre of the great Cattle Fairs, and Saturday Markets. The House consists of Six low Rooms, Six Chambers, Wine, Ale, and Spirit Cellars, with Yard, Brewhouse, and Granary adjoining.

Mr John Brown, the Owner, will show the Premises.

The Sale to commence, at the above Inn, on Tuesday, the Third Day of June, 1817, between the Hours of Six and Eight in the Evening

 

The Leeds Mercury [Saturday 13th May 1820] advertised


A PONY was LEFT in the possession of Mr B[land], and at the Nelson Inn, Halifax, on the Sixth of April.

This is to give NOTICE, That if the same be not claimed within Fourteen Days from the Date hereof, and it will be sold to defray Expenses.

The Leeds Mercury [Saturday 15th January 1825] announced


To Let by Ticket, to enter to Immediately, at Six o'Clock in the Evening of Monday, the Second February, if not disposed of before (of which Notice will be given) that old-established and well-accustomed Inn, situate on the west Side of the Cow-Market, Halifax, known by the Name of Admiral Lord Nelson, consisting of a large and Commodious Kitchen, with Two good Rooms to the Front of the Market and Two fronting Mount Street on the North Side, well situated for a good Retail Spirit Shop; also a large Room up Stairs, 21 yards long; with Five Bed Rooms, Brewhouse, Coal House, and Back Yard, with good cellaring; with or without a COTTAGE adjoining.

The Stock and Fixtures to be taken at a fair Valuation, and Application to be made to Mr Thomas Lister, the present Occupier and Owner, if by letter post-paid.

The Leeds Mercury [Saturday 3rd June 1826] announced


Admiral Lord Nelson Inn, Halifax

TO BE LET BY TICKET on Wednesday the 14th Day of June next at Six o'Clock in the Evening, the LEASE and GOODWILL of all that old-established and well-accustomed INN or Public House known by the Sign of the ADMIRAL LORD NELSON, with the Spirit Warehouse, Brewhouse, Stabling, and every Convenience belonging to the same.

The House is spacious and convenient, being situated on Cow Green, in the centre of the Cow Market, Halifax, and is a most desirable Situation for any Person wishing to carry on an extensive Business in the above line.

N.B. The Stock, Furniture and Fixtures are to be taken at a fair Valuation. The Stock being low, will be a fine opportunity for the incoming tenant.
