Several newspapers printed accounts on the death of Miss Kate Emsley
THE LATE MISS KATE EMSLEYThe death of Miss Kate Emsley A.R.C.M., of Clapton Mount, whilst on a visit to London, came as a shock to her many Halifax friends.
Miss Emsley was a gifted pianoforte teacher, and she took a keen and lovable interest in her pupils, whose progress to their studies gave her the utmost delight.
Many clever pianists in the district owe much to her painstaking training and will regret her sudden end.
Miss Emsley was trained under Mr Gordon Heller, Mr G. F. Sharpe, and Mr F. de G. English. and was a member of the Halifax Choral Society.
She formerly resided at Lee Mount. and whilst there took charge of the musical services at Lee Mount Baptist Church.
When she came to Halifax she attached herself to Pellon Lane Baptist Church, where she was much respected
MISS KATE EMSLEYThe interment of Miss Kate Emsley A.R.C.M., of Clapton Avenue, Halifax, took place yesterday afternoon at Lister Lane Cemetery.
Miss Emsley died on Saturday whilst on a visit to London.
Prior to the interment a service was held in Pellon Lane Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev J. Gwynne Thomas.
In a short address to those at the church, Mr Thomas said that all who knew and loved Miss Emsley held her in the highest respect
